The Modern Stay in Midrand

Positive: The location was nice. Negative: Before booking, please be advised that the advert is entirely misleading. It has a "private pool" listed as an amenity, however the "amenity" is not free at all. You have to pay R180 per day, per person, for access to the lagoon. Additionally, residents are only expected to pay R80 per guest. There was no indication of where the additional R100 came from. We brought this to the attention of the host and the only thing they did was offer us a later check out, instead of rectifying the false information they gave. The entire situation was very disappointing and truly a case of false advertising. They did not have coffee, tea or even sugar in the room, which is usually only common courtesy to have. The drain was clogged, and even the mop was extremely dirty. I would not book with this host again, because the price does not match the experience.
